You can see that the style has changed considerably. This might not mean anything; we know that Homestuck has changing styles all the time. However, this “chunkier” style seems to have taken effect once Caliborn entered the Medium, specifically after he accessed the terminals.
We also know that Caliborn’s art has been improving.

Now hey, compared to the crap he was drawing before, this shit is actually pretty good, if not a bit, well, chunky.
Hussie is no stranger to metafiction. I think that at some point, Caliborn/Lord English will take over Homestuck’s illustrations himself. In fact, I think he already has (or has started to).
But I can hear you say, “How can the art from this update be so good, if the art on the wallpaper (which just appeared in the comic) is so much worse?”
I think you know the answer.
